If you're running Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft Small Business Server you can get e-mail onto your mobile phone at no extra cost using Direct-Push.   There's no need to buy additional software such as a Blackberry Server - all you need is a compatible Smartphone or iPhone.  The only charge you might receive will be from your mobile phone provider for data usage but on many contracts this is either included in your package or free of charge.
