Spell Checking in Outlook
Spell Checking in Outlook
Solution
WORD as E-MAIL EDITOR
===================
If you're using Word as your Editor then emails will be checked for spelling as you type.
To enable Word as your editor*, Open Outlook and click on Tools | Options
Select the Mail Format tab
Tick the box, 'Use Micorsoft Office Word to edit email messages'
Click 'Apply and 'OK'
----
SPELL CHECK
===================
To change the spelling options, Open Outlook and click on Tools | Options
Select the 'Spelling' tab
There are various options here to choose from.
The 2nd box down - 'Always check spelling before sending' will scan the email for spelling mistakes and is usually ticked if you do not use Word as your email editor.
----
AUTOCORRECT
===================
Open Outlook
Click on Tools | Options and choose the 'Spellings' tab
Click on the 'AutoCorrect Options...' button in the middle of the screen
You are presented with two text fields called 'Replace:' & 'With:'
Here's a few examples of what you could enter:
Replace: Staurt --> With: Stuart
Repalce: stuart --> With: Stuart
Replace: vat! --> With: 012876543 (your company VAT number)
Replace: reg! --> With: 1234567 (your company registration number)
Replace: tel! --> With: 12345 (Your Telephone Number)
You get the idea. :)
nb: I've just added a '!' to the 'Replace:' field text but you could use any text/symbol/letter you like.
Have a scroll though the list to see the sort of things Microsoft already include.
You could add frequently used phrases, addresses, names, product names, staff names etc........

Please let us know if you found this article useful or if there are any errors or it's difficult to understand.
Thanks
*Note: Using Word as your email editor uses more memory and can be quite slow.
